BORN AGAIN

The Bible says, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, [ie. they have repented and put their faith in Christ for salvation]

he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Jesus said, "I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." (Luke 15:10).

If you have repented and believed the gospel, all heaven is rejoicing.

You have been "Born Again"!

In John 3:1-18, Jesus talked about the need to be born again. He said that unless you are born again, you cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. You've humbled yourself before the living God. You've repented of your sin and put your trust in Jesus who paid your fine on the cross and rose again. The Bible says you are born again. You have had a new birth into God's family with God as your heavenly Father. Praise God for his grace in opening your heart to see your need for his forgiveness.

When you repented before God and put your trust in Jesus, God gave you the Holy Spirit to live in you. In your new forgiven life, now that your relationship with God has been restored, you need to grow and learn how to walk under the control of the Spirit so that you may live a life that honours the one who saved you. He died for you, now live for him.

You can be sure as you live for him, that since he died to save you, he will not leave you now. The Bible says,

"Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!. Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation" (Romans 5:9-11).

GOD'S PROMISES TO YOU

The Bible says God is rich in mercy and that his love is beyond understanding (Ephesians 3:19). When you repented and put your trust in Jesus for salvation, many amazing things happened to you. Listen to what the Bible says:

  • You were born again by the power of the Holy Spirit (John 1:12-13, John 3:1-8)

  • You were made a child of God (Romans 8:15-16)

  • You received eternal life (John 3:16)

  • All your sins were washed away (1 John 1:9 - 1 John 2:2)

  • God has be come your true Father in heaven and you are no longer a child of the devil (John 8:44, Matthew 6:9)

  •

You became a Christian - one who is "in Christ" (Acts 11:26) and one of God's "saints". "Saint" does not mean perfect/sinless but one who has been set apart by God. God set you apart from the world and made you a citizen of heaven when you repented and trusted Christ. This is all a part of his amazing grace. Saving you from sin and its penalty is only just the start (Romans 5:10; Ephesians 5:10)

Now that you have begun a new life with Jesus as Saviour, don't let the devil rob you of all that God has for you. You are still in a spiritual battle.
